ARE YOU READY FOR THE MONTH OF FASHION?
September marks the official start of the Month of Fashion
Tomorrow, September 7th marks the official start of the Month of Fashion beginning with New York, then London, Milan, and ending with Paris. Designers will be presenting their spring/summer 2018 collections, so get ready to plan your outfit’s (because who doesn’t love spring?)!
Beyond the excitement for the unveiling of collections, this year we get to witness a new trend in the fashion world. This year leading luxury groups LVMH and Kering have signed an agreement that bans the use of size zero models and models under the age of 16 on the runway and in photoshoots. Facing scrutiny in the past, the companies want to “ensure the wellbeing of models.” Hopefully, this is a step in the right direction to kick off New York Fashion Week!
New York: September 7th – 13th 2017 Organized by: Council of Fashion Designers of America
Classic American brands like Calvin Klein (September 7th @ 8pm), Michael Kors (September 13th @ 10am), Ralph Lauren (September 12th @ 7pm), and Coach (September 12th @ 2pm) look for Selena Gomez sitting front row! Plus, Victoria Beckham (September 10th @ 10am).
Side note: Kanye West’s Yeezy Season 6 information has NOT been released. What is Mr. West up to?
London: September 5th – 19th 2017 Organized by: British Fashion Council
Major British brands include Burberry (September 16th @ 7pm), JW Anderson ( September 16th @ 11am), and Christopher Kane (September 18th @ 3pm).
BIG NEWS: Large American brand, Tommy Hilfiger, will no longer be presenting at New York Fashion Week, instead, the brand will bring its runway to London Fashion Week on September 19th at 7pm.
Milan: September 20th – 25th 2017 Organized by: Camera Nazionale Della Moda Italiana
One of the most anticipated shows of the season, Gucci, on September 20th at 3pm. We can’t wait to see what Alessandro Michele has in store for this season! Also, Fendi ( September 21th @ 12.30pm), Prada ( September 21th @ 6pm), Tod’s ( September 22nd @ 9:30am), Giorgio Armani (September 22nd @ 10:30am), and Salvatore Ferragamo (September 23rd @ 8:30pm).
Paris: September 26th – 30th 2017 Organized by: French Fashion Federation
Christian Dior (September 26th @ 2:30pm), Saint Laurent (September 26th @ 8:00pm), Chloé (September 28th @ 9am), and Vivienne Westwood ( September 30th @ 4:00pm).
