Milan Fashion Week 2024: which events will be open to the public?
As usual, during the Milan Fashion Week, most of the events and fashion shows will be reserved for a selected public that will access them by invitation, but this does not exclude the presence of events open to the general public of interested and passionate people in the sector. Let’s find out which ones.
1. MICHEL HADDI: BEYOND FASHION
The exhibition has been developed in two dates, from 19 October to 22 December 2023 and from 16 January to 16 March 2024 respectively, and is the French-Algerian photographer’s first solo show in the Lombard capital. The shots on show at the 29 ARTS IN PROGRESS gallery depict some of the most important supermodels in the history of fashion, as well as numerous artists and singers. Examples include David Bowie, Cameron Diaz, Jennifer Lopez and Angelina Jolie, Naomi Campbell and Kate Moss, Linda Evangelista, Stephanie Seymour, Yasmin Le Bon and Veruschka.
The second phase of the exhibition, which can be visited until 16 March 2024, offers us the opportunity to fully immerse ourselves in the multifaceted essence of the artist, as well as that of the subjects portrayed. On display to the public will be nudes and unpublished shots, some taken from some of Haddi’s most important advertising campaigns for maisons of the calibre of Versace, Chanel, Armani and Yves Saint-Laurent.

2. PHANTASMAGORIA CALLAS
The exhibition, open to the public from 17 November 2023 to 30 April 2024, is dedicated to the myth of Maria Callas on the centenary of her birth and proposes an itinerary guided by important artists such as Giorgio Armani, Alvin Curran, Latifa Echakhch, Mario Martone and Francesco Vezzoli within the career of the famous soprano.
The exhibition is divided into five different stages, each entrusted to one of the five artists involved. The opening will feature an exhibition of costumes worn by the artist during some of his performances and currently kept in the Historical Archive of the Teatro alla Scala. In addition, the project will end with a magenta-red dress from the Giorgio Armani Privé collection of 2021, thanks to which Giorgio Armani wanted to convey the incredible voice of Maria Callas in the form of a stylistic creation.

3. Fifties in Fashion
The exhibition, proposed by Accademia del Lusso, will be open from 20 to 29 February 2024 and has been curated by Stefano Dominella, Honorary President of Maison Gattinoni Couture, as well as being in collaboration with Afro Fashion Association. The exhibition is a celebration of the fashion of the 1950s, which is why we will find a series of selected garments representing the period that most revolutionised the style of Italian fashion, creating the culture of Made in Italy.
All those who decide to visit the exhibition will have the opportunity to interface with creations by Carosa, Fernanda Gattinoni, Tiziani, Schuberth, Antonelli, Fabiani, to name but a few. In short, a celebration of the creativity and craftsmanship that has shaped the Italian history of fashion.

4. Daniele Tamagni – Style Is Life
Daniele Tamagni’s exhibition opened on 9 February 2024 and will remain open until 1 April 2024. During the exhibition it will be possible to get in touch with the innovative gaze of the photographer, who died prematurely at the age of 42 in 2017, as well as to offer us his vision of street fashion styles and trends, many of which are charged with a strong socio-political value.

5. Fashion Hub
The Fashion Hub of Camera Nazionale della Moda Italiana supports new brands and emerging companies, proposing the exhibition of some collections as well as interesting debates and talks.

6. Frab’s Magazine
Opening today, Sunday 18 February, two days before the start of Milan Fashion Week 2024, Frab’s Magazine’s physical store will allow us to get a hands-on look at their selection of iconic magazines, showcasing the work of hundreds of small editors from different parts of the world and targeting the most diverse communities.
The store, however, will be neither a bookshop nor a newsstand, it will be a space that will also provide the opportunity to take part in training projects, consultancy and events open to the public for fans and professionals in the world of magazines. The main objective of Frab’s Magazine is to relaunch the world of printed magazines.

7. Juergen Teller i need to live
There are over 1000 works on display at the Milan Triennale, taken from the photographer’s commissioned works, editorials for major publications as well as original fashion campaigns. His shots recognise the fragility of human existence and celebrate the importance of being alive.
The exhibition can be visited by purchasing a ticket on site or on the official website until 1 April 2024.
In addition, the photographer will be present in the Triennale di Milano shop from 11:00 to 13:30 on Saturday 24 February to sign copies of the volumes on sale at the shop, namely

8. Diesel Fashion Show
Once again, Glenn Martens’ brand decided to open its doors to the public during the Milan Fashion Week 2024 show on 21 February. The lucky ones who managed to get tickets on 13 February will be able to attend the event0 on site, as well as backstage, albeit electronically.
For all those who were not able to obtain one of the 1000 tickets distributed on the official website, it will remain possible to connect to watch the show in streaming, as for most of the other fashion shows.
Conclusions: these are some of the events open to the public during Milan Fashion Week 2024 Womenswear, which will be held in the Lombard capital from 20 to 26 February.
