Main news of Salone del Mobile 2023

On 15th February 2023 all the news of this edition have been announced during a press conference. Among the main ones:

The first big news – a new exhibition itinerary

This year the exhibition itinerary will be only one. Companies which in the last years were in superior stands (8-12, 16-20) will be reset to the lower level, in order to simplify, ameliorate and enhance the use and the experience of the visit.

«We collected the needs of everyone who makes and lives the Salone, among exhibitors and visitors, through more than 2.300 interviews and thematic work group», as Maria Porro, President of Salone del Mobile.Milano, affirmed during the press conference.

The second news – Euroluce revolution

The 31st edition of Euroluce, hosted in stands 9-11 and 13-15 with a new layout, was designed by Lombardini 22: its ring path puts the visitor in the middle, in order to ameliorate the fruition of the experience and to ensure a better connection between the four stands. This will happen thanks to a more flowing path, which will simplify the orientation of visitors and increase the visibility of exhibitors.

«We started from relationships, which are the main theme in every exhibition. And, by using the parametric technology, we tried to understand what people saw when they entered the space, in order to design a more flowing path» said Juri Franzosi, General Director at the Milan studio.

Euroluce hard worked about light. In fact, you no more talk only about the object ‘lamp’, but you analyze technical and technological aspects of light on the spaces too.

Euroluce 2023 will be the «new city of light, with an irregular ring path, whose shape will be flowing and free».

Third news

In the end, the third news is the cultural element integrated in the spaces of Euroluce, which will host inter-disciplinary and cultural contents by Beppe Finessi. Contents will vary from architecture to art, through exhibitions, talks, workshops and site-specific equipments.

«A plural project which was planned and realized by partnering with artists and curators which differs because of their attitudes, ages and origins, believing in beauty and in the strength given by the presence of different voices.

A multidisciplinary project which is sure about results and formal and technological experimentations about products by the best design participating companies and which, because of this, looks for and opens to a dialogue with other sides of creativity, such as architecture, interior design, staging, equipments, painting, sculpture and photography».

The previous words were pronounced by Beppe Finessi (design teacher and critic) to introduce the cultural schedule of Salone del Mobile. So the cultural element, during this edition, is organized to offer food for thoughts about several themes, from technical to artistic ones, through twelve Constellations – exhibitions in the exhibition, which are shaped as architectural breaks in the whole path, following the design by Formafantasma studio – and four exhibitions, attended by four curators and exhibition designers.

The April edition of Fuorisalone, titled Laboratorio Futuro, will offer some reflections about how we imagine our future, concerning the uniqueness of our times.
